Ch-ch-ch-changes
Just as the job thing had settled down, another monkey wrench was thrown into the works. Last Tuesday I received a letter from the twins' Day-care/Nursery school inviting me to a parent meeting discussing the future of the center. This meeting was last night. Oy.
For some background, the school leased space from a local Jewish Center (synagogue). Unfortunately the congregation of the Temple shrank to the point where they could no longer sustain themselves and merged with another area Temple. The building was put up for sale in June of 2006. The sale finally went through this past June 1. During the course of the negotiations, the school director tried repeatedly to make contact with the prospective owners (a Korean Church) but all she could get was assurances through the broker that they "did not want to disturb the community" and they "welcomed the revenue" the school brought in. This all changed at a meeting on June 12 when they announced that they would not be renewing the schools lease which would have to be out Aug 31st. Long story short, the director has not been able to secure another location within the time allowed by the Church and had to break the bad news to us last night. There were tears in her eyes as she explained what had transpired. Hers were not the only teary eyes.
So barring a miracle, I've got to find a new nursery/day-care center for September. I've spent the morning on the web and the phone calling the centers near me. I have an appointment EARLY Thursday morning at one place to take a tour. It sounds great on paper, with early drop off and even later pick up, provides lunch and two snacks a day, activities, kindergarten preparedness curriculum. I'm just curious as to how big a premium this one comes with. Good thing I'm getting a raise. The bigger problem is that starting next week, I'm at a new job, so I need to get this settled and right quick. I can't be taking time off right off the bat. Geez. It is always something isn't it?
Craft on!

Oh that sucks. Good day care is so hard to find.
Good luck!

Suck-o-rama. Finding good day care is so stressful! Sending vibes for finding something awesome quickly your way (try saying that 5 times real fast; or I can't really speak English)!
